Argentina -Chimichurri BBQ steaks

 



The recipe I want to share with you today
is a dish from
Argentina 

Argentina is famous for its cattle industry, BBQ steaks, Gaucho cowboys, Piranha fish & the Iguazu Falls, which are rated in the top three largest waterfalls in the World!

the Recipe we cooked was 
BBQ Chimichurri  Beef Steak. 
which we served with 
rice and an Avocado Green salad.  




ARGENTINIAN BBQ STEAK WITH CHIMICHURRI MARINADE

INGREDIENTS:
·      1/2 cup (125ml) extra virgin olive oil
·      2 Tbsp chopped oregano
·      2 Tbsp chopped flat-leaf parsley
·      1 Tbsp chopped rosemary
·      2 Tbsp of sweet chilli sauce
·      1 Tsp sweet Spanish paprika
·      3 cloves garlic, crushed
·      3 Tbsp white wine vinegar
·      juice of half a lemon
·      ½  tsp sea salt
·      ¼ Tsp freshly ground black pepper
·      4 x Porterhouse steak about 2.5cm / I inch thick

METHOD:
1.     Mix all ingredients together (except for the steak) in a bowl & leave at room temperature to infuse for  about ½ an hour.
2.     Put steaks into a suitable dish to marinade in & pour marinade evenly over them, turning several times to coat. Re-cover and refrigerate for 1 hour turning over every 10 minutes or so. 
3.     Preheat the grill or grill pan to very hot and cook the steak for about 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. 
4.     Remove steak to a  plate &  cover with foil.
5.     Allow steaks to rest for 10 minutes
6.     thinly slice steaks across the grain & present on a platter
